New cameras for CCIR security applications
9 Mar 2011
The three models have the same physical size with a conformal coating for wet or high humidity-environments but give system designers a choice of pixel sizes and optical formats ranging from the 2/3" ICX423AL sensor in the RM-670, to the 1/2" ICX-429AL in the RM-675NIR, to the 1/3" ICX259AL in the RM-673NIR. The RM-675NIR and RM-673NIR offer added sensitivity to near-infrared light. All models include an integrated 3-axis control function which can be used to operate motorized zoom lenses, change focus and iris settings, move pan and tilt heads, or any combination of three external control circuits.
An Auto Level Control function offers some of the most sophisticated capabilities available for handling changing lighting conditional in surveillance, situational awareness, and remote monitoring applications. It connects the auto-gain and auto-shutter functions to maintain excellent user- defined exposure control without the size, expense, and potential for mechanical problems that can arise when using auto-iris lenses.
A new "High Sensitivity" mode can be utilised when the video level drops below a minimum threshold, and uses a combination of pixel summing and advanced signal processing to increase the effective sensitivity of the camera up to 100 times normal levels while maintaining resolution at least at the equivalent of 5 x 5 binning. Other features include pixel blemish compensation and a newly-added column defect correction.
