Since November 1st, 2009, the Allied Vision Technologies (AVT) range of Prosilica GigE cameras will be exclusively distributed by STEMMER IMAGING. This follows AVT’s rebranding of the Prosilica range with the establishment of ‘Prosilica’ as a camera series name.
AVT, market leader in the manufacture of digital FireWire industrial cameras, acquired Canadian GigE camera manufacturer, Prosilica, in the middle of 2008. Prosilica was one of the first camera manufacturers on the international market to offer a broad range of GigE cameras with different sensors after the GigE Vision standard was defined. The addition of the Prosilica range has made AVT one of the most important and diversified camera manufacturers worldwide.
From beginning of November, AVT’s Prosilica GC, GE, GS, GB and GX series of GigE cameras will join AVT’s Pike, Stingray, Guppy and other FireWire cameras in the familiar red AVT colour scheme, to complete the integration process.
AVT and STEMMER IMAGING have enjoyed a very successful business relationship for many years, with STEMMER IMAGING being one of AVT’s major reseller channels for FireWire cameras so the inclusion of the GigE cameras is a natural extension to the agreement.
