Teledyne DALSA Xcelera-CL PX4 and PX8 - High-speed image acquisition

The Xcelera-CL PX4 frame grabber card was developed by Teledyne DALSA with high-speed applications in mind and is plug- and softwarecompatible with the successful X64-CL series. It uses either the PCI Express x4 interface (PX4) or x8 interface (PX8). Extensive on-board pre-processing such as tap sorting, look-up tables, Bayer conversion, flat-field/flat-line corrections and the correction of defective pixels are standard features of the Xcelera. Data security has been ensured via the Teledyne DALSA Trigger-to-Image-Reliability framework.

On the software side all frame grabbers of the Xcelera series are supported by Teledyne DALSA's Sapera SDK and Common Vision Blox and offer users numerous examples of all common programming languages. This allows easy integration for all customer-specific applications without affecting flexibility.

The Xcelera-CL PX4 Full captures images from CameraLink cameras in Base, Medium or Full configurations and is suitable in particular for acquisition of highest speed cameras on the CameraLink interface such as the P3 8x-12K40 or the Falcon2 from Teledyne DALSA with bandwidths of up to 660 MB/s. The Xcelera-CL PX4 Dual captures images from two CameraLink Base cameras synchronously or inde pendently of one another or from one Medium camera.

DALSA Xcelera-CL PX4 Full Special Edition

The DALSA Xcelera-CL PX4 Full SE offers additional pre-processing functions such as run-length encoding, colour space conversion for Bayer, RGB and CIELAB, various dynamically switchable look-up tables and support for various shading correction configurations.

  • 128 MB on-board frame buffer memory
  • Independently programmable trigger inputs (TTL/LVDS)
  • Strobe outputs plus independent serial interfaces
