CVB Polimago has shown excellent results in three main areas:
As a search tool for finding variable targets. This can include variable appearance due to variable illumination or presentation to the camera.
As a search tool to return the ‘pose estimation’ of an object. This allows an estimation of the 3D orientation of a target. It works best for objects that present a flat surface such as tiles.
As a classification tool that learns and generalises from a training set. This allows variable objects to be identified based on a training set.
The CVB development team have now created a CVB Polimago plugin for Teledyne DALSA’s Sherlock software. By adding the plugin file to Sherlock’s plugin directory, CVB Polimago appears as an algorithm in Sherlock. This means that the power of CVB Polimago can be used by Sherlock users who appreciate the rapid application development that Sherlock offers, with no programming. Not a single line of code!
This is the latest in a series of CVB developments for Sherlock, including the CVB driver for Sherlock which increases the camera acquisition options for Sherlock as well as CVB Manto and CVB Flex Inspect plugins to allow users to leverage the power of CVB.
